The starting of the blog

I would like to start this blog officially with my big FAMILY DAY.

I'm always wondering why God has been so kind to me to let me study in London which is the place that I dreamed of when I was just a little girl. I told him that I was prepared for his calls and I hope I will continue to work for his calls. Although the dream to get a scholarship as to study in oversea has been given, I was very fortunate enough to have many great days with my family and friends before the departure. One of the day is so called "FAMILY DAY" by me.

My relatives have told me that they planned to have a farewell to me. I didn't want it at first as I do not like to chat with people in large group as it made me can't focus during the conversation and the most importantly, it would be sponsored by my relatives and it is too luxurious to have it. I admit that I have about 10 percent in my heart that I would like to have 1 as I didn't have a party for myself for a long time.

I didn't pay much attention when organising this farewell as I was very busy with the setting of the camp programmes, meetings and stuffs. Even when my fouth aunt told me how many servings they would prepared, I couldn't give an answer and I didn't show my interest in it very much. She was kind enough to convince me to have it as I'm the big sister in this Ong family. Besides that, I found out that my cousins were quietly planning something surprising for me.One day, when I was in fifth aunt's house, my little cousin, yi yi unintentionally slipped out that my cousins are going to sing for me when I asked her why her elder sister bought the black little jacket.Fifth aunt and I were laughing at her and fifth aunt asked me not to say out.

The date was set to be at 11th September 2010. I invited my friends last minute. I was surprised that they gave me a very positive response as I wasn't a very popular friend to the friends. Thanks for their turn out.

I chatted with a lot of people, some are my ex gbs-mates, some are church friends, some are good friends of mine, some are my parent's friends and relatives.Jenniher, our new CDF president even rejected her friends' party just to attend my farewell, I really touched by her presence on that day. Jenniher, you were too kind to me and I don't deserve that.Yes, I was a bit tired on that day but I appreciate talking to them as I knew there would be difficult for us to gather again just like this after this day.

Talking about my church friends, haha, they were funny. Jenniher gave me wrong present. The present that she gave me should be given to another friend of her. Haha, guessed that she had became so blur because she was rushing to my party. My cousins wanted to give me many surprises and they did many activities for me but it turned out to be not what they had expected (I'm sorry for it). Lynette got sore-throat and lost her voice on that day. However, they managed to sing a nice song to me. They are great singers!!

I received many presents and angpows. The present that made me and val surprised the most was the present given by Father Chris. He gave me an angpow with blessing written on it and I was imagined that malaysia ringgit note inside it when I opened it. "Oh, pound sterling" was the statement that came out from Val and my mouths when we saw a 20 pounds note inside the angpow. He has showed that he is really care the parishioners according to his present. The process of getting present from my angpow was funny, because I thought she wanted to give me angpow with money so I refused to take it. Hahaha, I made a wrong guess because she told me that sister won't give money so she gave me a bracelet rosary. I liked it.

For my relatives, they gave me a very expensive present. I felt shy to receive it as it wasted quite a lot of their money. Thanks for the watch and I will remember all of you when I look at the watch. My group of cousins did a fanstatic present as well. They gave a red coloured and cartooned box. There were about 800 stars and wishes from every single family members. I heard from one of my aunt that they were very pek chek when they could fold the stars, they bought the paper strips but they didn't know how to fold it. At last, luckily, Gilfred has folded some last time and he donated them for the present. Again, their attempt to make me feel home in UK by looking at wishes from the box is making me speechless~~

Lastly, Valerie who is my good friendcousin, gave me a present that was very troublesome to open it out. She wrapped the present with many layers of newspaper and covered it with many scrambled newspaper as well. It was quite funny when looking at it. When I finally opened it out successfully, "oh, the CD"...the CD that I wanted to buy when I shopped with her. She was so caring and being attentive to what I like.I think I will be envy by many people as I can have such a nice friend like her.Val, sorry if I can't be as caring as you.

To be continued...as I have many little story behind the presents.
